My father wore a Praesidus A11, which is a vintage watch. A field watch, sometimes known as a "trench watch," is a simple military watch that was developed for soldiers to wear during WWII. They were designed to do only one thing, and do it well: tell the exact time.

A decent field watch includes a stainless steel case, a canvas or leather band, and a fine movement with a traditional purpose for battle. With a glare-proof crystal, a high contrast dial, luminous hands, and large numerals, it must be easy to read. The field watch is a must-have for active men, adventurers, and outdoor enthusiasts. It's the type of watch you can wear in just about any place.

This sounds like an advertisement for Praesidus watches with text taken directly from their website. 馃槖

Almost. For instance, the words "...a must have, the field watch is..." were NOT plagiarized by CW; the rest of that phrase was! I sent CW a PM PDQ.
