I know there have been tons of emails flying around the net about sending troops cards addressed to "Any Wounded Soldier" to Walter Reed and other hospitals.

While the email is very well intentioned, it is also misleading. Sadly, due to the past (hate mail), security concerns, and other items, the USPS is not delivering the mail, and the Military hospitals are not accepting them.

Needless to say, people were quite upset about their cards being returned. In response to this, Walter Reed, and other Veteran Organizations have found a solution.

this could have been avoided if the antrax killer had been found, " dead or alive".

I found nothing about hate mail but only about mail that might be against the war. Perhaps instead of this they should provide these men and women proper care, shelter without cockroaches and get rid of the BS delays in giving them the diability benefit benefits they deserve.

Unbelievable that some people would use this way to harm wounded soldiers...

I doubt very much that there would be hate mail and as a former military, I think they would do what I would do, laugh at them, call them a name and throw in in the trash.

I think that soldiers are used to some more extreme things than some hate mail :001_rolleyes: And being wounded, they probably have some more important things on their mind. But I was referring to substances that could be enclosed with the mail. Another advantage of electronic mail I guess... ;)

I very much doubt anyone, even one tarred with that overused term " terrorist" would send a letter bomb or anything else to wounded troops. This is IMO another attempt to stifle free thought in this country and to control everything that happens.

I am still wondering when the Antrax killer will be caught and when OBL will be brought to ground. If they let the men trained to do the job do it rather than control things for political gain, OBL would be dead or in jail.:cursing:
