I am close to pre-ordering a chrono--my first Lum-Tec. I am not sure which i like best but it has come down to the M46 (with red accents) or M47 (vintage lume color). I am kinda leaning towards the simple coloring of the 47--Which do you prefer and why?

my 2 cents:

M 46's black face/white fonts/red trims offers more versality, meaning you can pair it up with different straps of varying materials to produce different look. This updated version of the M 31 has illuminated small dial hands which I think adds character esp. in the dark ( love the symmetrical look of the MDV glow in the dark!)

as for M 47's old radium look really sets it apart from the usual range of LUM-TECs. Well, it's predecessor M 5 sold out before i knew the brand, but from what i can compare, I really do prefer the current look without the numbers. very clean look.

Thanks for the pic--I like the M47 without the 3 and 9 rather than have them munched by dials!

I love the 46 but I think the 47 is more versatile in terms of what you can wear with it.

I just ordered the 47 but I do have have a killer leather band with bright red stitching that would look awesome on the 46.

I would help decide by what bands and what color watches you already have. My personal reason was that I wanted something like my M9 but with green Lume. I already have a few black watches of the 46's basic look.

Sorry I can't help - I like them both! The red/black on the M46 is awesome, and the old school look of the M47 is equally cool! Flip a coin...? :thumbup1:

I had the same dilemma. I ended up going for the M47, as it looks more clean and a bit vintage at the same time, especially for a chronograph

If you do go for the m46 check out the m48 as well, as it has the big date and swiss movement.

Almost all of us went for the 47. That was so cool that we got a thread of 50 concept renderings and the M47 which I voted for was so popular they made it and now I get to buy one.
