My local watch maker which was trained by Bulova to work on accutrons has just recently been diagnosed with brain cancer and will not be continuing his work.:( I have noticed yall talk about a guy in Bulgaria named Ludmil. I just sold him some watches and parts on eBay. Would yall recommend him for servicing and have yall been pleased with his work. I have some accutrons that are in need of service. I have called everybody in a 5 hour radius and nobody will touch a vintage accutron. Thanks in advance!,

I have purchased three Accutrons from Ludmil and he has serviced several of my other Accutrons. Yes, I would recommend him. Others here have since purchased watches from him and/or have him service their Accutrons.

Peter, I have over 200 watches that need to be serviced, Including women's and pocket watches. My wife told me I needed to service and sell some before buying more but everytime I get some money saved up, along comes annother good deal and I buy five more. I am sending ludmil a email tomorrow and atleast get started on the accutrons! I started out to just collect accutrons but somehow got myself into everything that is vintage and keeps time!!:w00t:

My wife just purchased an Accutron for me from Ludmil, and I love it. It was quite a surprise, and she chose a very nice one. It's running fabulously.

Ah, it looks like I've finally found the contact info for the "Accutron service champ in Bulgaria"! One of my F300s is "double-indexing" so I hope he can diagnose and fix the problem, hopefully it's not a shot index wheel...I take it his rates are reasonable? I've seen quotes going from £38 to £85 from "independant watchmakers" for F300 servicing (parts extra) and then for "company service" there's only STS UK and that's £375 but with invoice, 2 year warranty, all needed parts, new crown/seals/glass, refinishing of case/bracelet, so depending on what's required and the original value of the watch it could be of interest.

Anyone knows if he works on older Quartz movements like the Omega Calibre 1310 too? One of mine was keeping excellent time but now stops for no apparent reason, probably needs a service...

I paid $110 for a Snorkel service recently and then for parts on top. The price for parts was fair. It is possible that he charges more for a service after looking at a particular watch and deciding it needs more TLC than expected. I have always received varying quotes for service from him for various watches in various condition. All have been fair IMO.

Just got my F300 lobster back. It needed a full service, a new index wheel, and two new gaskets and it now looks and works excellent. Felt it was quite fair at $160 and the great communication and quick turnaround made it a very pleasant experience! Night and day compared to another recent experience with a repairer in the UK (watch had to be sent back twice, bezel got damaged, not a word of apology, etc...).

Just got another watch back from Ludmil, an erratically running Omega F300 and with a service and a new pawl finger it has a new lease on life! Can't say enough good things about Ludmil, quick turnaround, both for emails and service, reasonable rates, and a pleasure to deal with, a real asset to the "tuning fork" community!

Thats always nice to hear!!! As with any hobby, its sometimes difficult to corner good service/restoration talent thats both pleasant and top notch. I think Ludmil covers both. I have purchased 10+ accutrons from him, 3 being this month alone and his last shipping took 7 days, purchase to front door. I just wish I could get myself to ship him my Grandfathers M2 Yellow Dot for abit of 'tweaking'. I really can't afford to have something happen to it (shipping wise).
