Looking for new Invicta line to collect.....suggestions???

I have been collecting watches for only 1 year, and I have only spent $100 or less per watch (usually pick up good buys on ebay, amazon, etc.). So far, I've only kept the Speedways x 4 (39mm) and Sapphire Divers x 4 (40mm).

I am looking for a new line to collect (other than the standard Pro Diver - interesting variations of the Pro Diver welcome):

1. Under $150 (at least can hunt down for under $150)
2. Auto or Quartz - doesn't matter
3. 40mm or less (or something that wears similar in size to the Speedways & Pro Divers even if slightly larger)

Your favorites???? / Suggestions????????????????????????

Jason, if you're looking for somthing different than the Diver or Speedway I would suggest the Lupah. You don't have to hunt too hard to find them for less than $150. I just paid $104 for a Lupah Dragon Chronograph on sale.

That is exactly what I was planning on collecting next.........except when I went looking at the sizes - they were not in my range. The baby lupahs were too small with a 16mm band, and the next size was the standard lupah with a 24mm band - they only get bigger from there. I have found I really need something in the 18-20mm range....maybe 22mm at the most. I did find one oversized womens diver lupah (round) with a 20mm band, but only 1 model.......
What about the Elite series. They are stated to be 42mm without the crown, but I've read that they wear smaller. Does anyone have a pic of any Invicta Elite next to a Speedway or 40mm ProDiver?
Hey Jason586, have you checked out the Vortice. They have a smaller diameter with the look of a Lupah. They also have the big date which I love. I wear mine quite a bit and they come in a wide variety of dial colors and straps. Great looking watch and I get compliments all the time.

Thanks for the suggestion; I haven't looked at the Vortice before. I'll go check them out right now.
The only Vortices I could find were the same size as the standard (or smallest) lupah with a 24mm strap. Did I miss some??
The only lupah I could ever find in the 18-22mm range was the womens lupah diver chronograph which has a 20mm strap which is the same as my sapphire divers and speedways. The only problems is there is very little variance between the models with nothing in a goldtone at all that I could find.

I highly recommend the Abyss Pro Divers...price is good and a nice variant on the series....lots to choose from too.

Hey Jason586,
The Vortice line for sure has a smaller diameter than the Lupah but the straps are about the same size. If you are worried about the size of strap then the Vortice won't work for you but I can say again that the diameter of the Vortice is smaller compared to the Lupah, I have both, I really don't think you would be unhappy with that watch, a friend of mine is only 5'8" and weighs 155 lbs and he has a Vortice and he absolutely loves it. If that doesn't work for you I am not sure what else I can suggest.

Thanks JAS1125! :thumbup1:
I've contemplated the Abyss as well since it is 40mm in size and all the reviews are good on it's quality for the $. I'm am just not as drawn to the appearance; but I keep it in the back of my mind to try if I come across the right deal on one. In person, I may like the Abyss a lot more.
I just won (30 minutes ago) a "like new" Invicta Elite Swiss Chronograph with Sapphire Crystal #9229 for $76.53 + shipping on ebay. They seem to average about $250 online. I like the Yachtmaster look a lot, but I did not want an exact copy. This should give the same basic look, but will not be mistaken for one with the 3 subdials. The same reason I kept my Sapphire Divers over the standard ProDivers that I originally bought.

I'm 5'8" as well and weigh about 135lbs.
Do you have the standard (smallest Lupah)? Would you be willing to measure the width (without the crown) of the Lupah and of the Vortice that you own to help me out a bit? A picture of them side-by-side would be amazingly helpful!!!

Thanks again for your help/suggestion.
The Vortice is 36mm and the lupah is 44.5. I can't take any pics for you as my daughter has taken it on her trip. But that should give you an idea on the size. Now that you tell me what your weight is it may look quite big on your wrist. At the same time my friend is very thin as well. But at least you have the diameters and you can make a decision on your own. What I would do is go to the Invicta website and look at the line of watches they have. You may find another model that will suite your needs.

Sorry that was supposed to be invictawatch.com
Thanks for the help. I think the Vortices might be a bit big for my taste. I did buy this today for only $76.53 + shipping. Swiss Quartz Chronograph w/ Sapphire Crystal. Seller said running perfectly and no scratches on it/only tried it on - I hope he is honest.

Sorry non sponsor link removed. AutoMovt
I am sure it will be fine. The only concern I would have is the fact that he has no prior feedback but you can always count on Paypal to protect you from sellers that are not trustworthy. Let me know how it goes.
