Hey guys, recently my hands have been itching to get a German dress watch to fill in a gap in my collection, which are all divers and gshocks. I've looked at the swiss offerings such as Tissot and Longines but none of them really speaks to me, their dress watch somehow lacks of something imo.

I narrowed it down to Max Bill and Club Campus as my pick. Both are good in their own way but:

Max Bill: Interesting backstory but will the "can't never go wrong design" looks muted after a while? It's meaningful from the backstory perspective but

Club Campus: Fun design but is it worth it since its more expensive? plus the long lugs make the strap appear far apart from the case which does look quite annoying when worn on wrist.

Which one would you pick and why?

Sorry I didn't do the poll, but without pictures, I couldn't remember which watch was made by whom! Both are good companies that make a quality product. My choice would be the less expensive one: (A) The level of workmanship in the two exemplars is so identical, I would not be able to one was discernably better or worse than the other. Why spend money I don't have to? (B) You're asking me to impose my aesthetic values upon you when it is you making the buying decision. Simply choose the watch that looks better to you!
And as for that interhorn ( the term for the gap between the two strap lugs) dilemma; just take off the strap and switch to a style of metal bracelet that has curved end pieces that fill the space up nicely. Some after-market bands will give you the option of straight or curved end pieces.

Hey there, appreciate your opinion. That's the thing, I'm kinda stucked in between my decision to choose one. Both designs are equally as attractive with the Max Bill being the winner in history wise, while Nomos being the winner in solid built and more fun. Was wondering if there are any Max Bill fans here or Nomos fans who'd love to share their take on these two pieces

I've no experience with either watch or brand but i like the looks of the Nomos a bit better. For that kind of $$ you should have plenty of other choices too.
No doubt there's plenty of choices in the price range, but I kinda like to step my foot into German watches for the first time. Since I've owned swiss, jap, and even chinese watches it's only German is left to be obtained onto my wrist! Nomos do look younger than the Max Bill I mentioned, but not too sure if it will still look relevant in the coming years for me.

Hi, I really like the NOMOS Zurich World Time MIdnight Blue Ref. 807 and I am pretty sure that will be relevant in the future, and in second place JUNGHANS Max Bill Automatic Ref. 27/4002.46. Interesting germans watches, quite expensive the Nomos Zurich but looks great

Hi guys, I totally missed out on my quest to either get a Junghans MB or a Nomos. Still hasn't made up my mind since the day I posted my question in this thread. Recently I saw an AD in Malaysia - Their website says customer will get the free gifts stated in the picture with every purchase of a Junghans watch.

Seems like a good deal? What you guys think? Most likely I'm gonna get one since I'm leaning more towards MB after considerations. Picture above from the AD salesperson.

Post Update: Hey everyone, I've made my decision and eventually went with Max Bill. As promised by the seller https://mywow2.com/ , they shipped the watch to me with freebies included. I got a 2 horween straps (brown and black) and a leather watch roll. Seems like a good deal for me since the quality of the items are really good imo.

Nevertheless, I'm now a proud owner of the iconic Junghans Max Bill!

The Max Bill sits really nicely on my tiny wrist. Perfect dimension I'd say for me.

Here are the freebies I gotten from the AD. 2 well made leather straps and a peeble leather (I think?) watch roll.

What you guys think about the Max Bill on my wrist? Would love to hear from you guys!

It's hard to argue against ANY watch design inspired by the Bahaus artistic movement (started in the early 1920s in Germany by architect Walter Gropius.)
