Any railroad watch experts out there? This Longines RR280 came from a longtime employee of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Now, while I don’t doubt the watch’s authenticity, I’ve been unable to find another RR280 with this style of dial. It’s obviously based on the earlier Longines T905 dial as seen on watches purchased by the Union Pacific Railroad, but with a red inner chapter with Arabic numerals to create a 24-hour dial, as required by Canadian Pacific. Also, its movement is adjusted to five positions like all RR280’s, rather than the three positions of the T905, so it’s not a T905 with a modified dial. Perhaps this is an early, transitional version of the Canadian RR280?
