I'm not sure i understand what the difficulty is in replacing that metal bracelet with a leather strap ? About all you need is a spring bar removal tool, some patience, measure the lug distance and buy/install a new leather strap from what i can see. Even a 'mall kiosk' watch vendor should be able to handle that work.
