By now we all know that phone cameras are getting better and better. While the quality is still behind
DSLRs (naturally) and even behind some decent P&S, it is without a doubt that the old saying 'The best
camera is the one you have on you" is SO TRUE. Existence of some nifty and simple apps makes taking
and editing pictures even more fun as one can go from taking the picture, editing it, saving it (or uploading
to a picture or social media site) literally in one minute !

Last week of December we took a cruise. While I took my D700 with me, I end up using only my Canon S100
and my phone.....To my disbelief I did not take 1 single picture with D700 as I found S100 much more convenient
on our day tours, taking HD video clips etc.. As you can see above, I also used my phone here and there as I wanted
to take advantage of quick edits that Camera+ iPhone app offers.
I was also attending some trade shows these past two weekend and here are some quick pictures I snapped
with my iPhone and edited in Camera+ while on the cruise as well the past two trade-show weekends.

...as you can guess however,....my favorite picture is the last one...."Cruise ship - downtown Miami - Sunset"

I really like how the last spur-of-a-moment photo turned out. This past weekend we were driving to Miami Beach
and this cruise ship just pushed off the dock into the canal before it heads out to Atlantic Ocean. As we were
driving on MacArthur Causeway, it was just before sunset and the colors were beautiful with the sun setting
over downtown Miami in the background.

I was sitting in the passenger seat... and my camera was in the bag and in the trunk :-( I quickly rolled down
the window, leaned out and fired 2-3 quick shots just with my phone. I wish that the cement barricade on the side
of the road was not there, but beggars can't be choosers ;) Although I also wish I had my big camera on a tripod
and was waiting for this picture on the edge of the canal for a perfect shot - of the 3 pictures I took I picked
this one and was pretty happy with it.....especially for a phone camera....

Those are absolutely amazing! I'd be interested in some of the effects/filters you applied in Camera+....like in that first photo for example?

Thanks.
If memory serves me right that first one used "Clarity" under Scenes,
then "Vibrant" under FX Effects (brought down to about 30% or so from default 100%),
then the final step in Camera+ would be "Thin Black" for Borders (under "simple" borders).
(all pics. were quickly batch-processed in Noiseware professional just in the default setting
before I uploaded them to Photobucket)

That's the same frame I use on most of my iPhone photos as well. It's a shame there's not a better noise reduction capability for iPhone photos....I generally run through some noise reduction on a PC as well....were it not for that step, I could do about all the photo taking and post photo editing for my iPhone shots on the iPhone itself.

If watermarking your photos is of any value (I see you do on some of your photos), check out the iWatermark app. Very useful.
