According to the U-Boat website, "99% of watches sold on the web are counterfeit."

Is that true? Or just a scare tactic? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Now I know why U-boat watches are soooo huge: the company is full of $#it. :sneaky2::laugh::lol:

99% can't be even considered an exaggeration it's so ludicrous. I would have argued against 25% even, but can see that number being thrown out to make a point if they're counting the sites that are up front about being replicas.

So will Hublot or Jonny Sonbul throw out some made up b.s. "facts" next?

A) The fake costs less.

Seriously, U-boat uses generic parts and movements so the fake could be made of the same stuff as the authentic watch. If somebody gave me one I'd immediately sell it and buy a good watch.

I'm not even sure why or how they're allowed to make this claim (unless it's true).

We emailed them to ask for their source / methodology. I'm 99% sure that we won't get a response. But hopefully this gets back to them and they either back it up or take it down.
