44-48mm case diameter is the comfort zone for me so there are many Invictas from which to choose. However, 18-20mm high for a profile on a 48-50mm watch gets you attention - the wrong kind. IMHO the trend is to larger diameter cases (even Rolexes are getting bigger) but 14-16mm tall. Hamilton, Alpina and Movado autos are examples. I have been buying lower profile Invictas but wish they would adapt some of their current collections. Sea Hunters Leviathans and Venoms come to mind as good looking watches (dials and materials) if they would just reduce the height. A mid size is still 18mm tall and requires a custom shirt cuff to accomodate even if available.

I hear you! I've been retired for years now and no longer really worry about tight cuffed business shirts, however, being a large man with an 8 inch wrist I've been thankful for the increased diameters. Honestly, when I had my Rolex watches and still many of my watches form the 80's and back look like a woman's or child's watch on me. But, you are correct the height of some of the watches they make are a bit much. I have a Leviathan, the 6660, and can just take it's 19mm height and that's mainly because it has a flat face/bezel compared to some like a 21mm Venoms. I have a 11702 on my short list of Invictas I'd like to have, but, every time I read that it is 21mm thick and see a picture of it from the side I just say no.
