Why not ... i own a few Lum-Tec's

I live in Europe, The Netherlands.
I know it's not Baghdad, or Falluja ... but I'm still kicking and breathing.
Or maybe it's because we are an pro American country. You tell me.

I wear one now, the M42 Phantom

I always worry about that too, but lots of the locals wear decent enough watches(India, Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, Russia). It really depends where you go and remember you aren't wearing a Rolex.

You have absolutely NOTHING to worry about unless you foolishly expose yourself unnecessarily by venturing into the seedier areas of town without proper escort.

There, roving gangs, or bandits, are apt to cut your throat just to take your shoes, to hell with the watch.

Not sure what countries to which you refer. All countries, even cities within countries, are different vis-a-vis the criminal threat. We live in Germany and I wear my LT or Breitling, Panerai, Martin Braun, Tag, etc. almost every time I leave the house. We are US citizens living here for a few years.

I don't believe Europe in general is more dangerous than the States. There is a larger pick pocket threat in certain locations. Former Eastern Block countries might have a different criminal threat than Western Europe. The UK violent crime threat was higher than the US at one time, not sure about right now. Like the States, time and location do play a part.

If traveling overseas, one might consider checking State Department website for information concerning a specific country.

I think your question need to be explained better because I can think of only two reasons for asking it. Is it A - it's an expensive looked watch which attract attention from the wrong sort or B- it's an American brand which in some countries who hate this country might take their anger out on me?

Answer A - I reckon crime in the same the world over and big cities in the US differ not from else where in the world.

Answer B - You are worrying over nothing, a watch's origin is less noticeable than most other items and if you are from the US then the way you speak will be more of a giveaway.

Mate I don't know what you think goes on in the world. Just get out there and go for it. The world is not necessarily full of a---holes. I've travelled to great countries and the last thing they wanted was my watch.
is it safe to wear Lum-tec watch overseas to other countries?

I don't want to get killed wearing the watch.

+ 1000

Lüm-Tec watches were with me during extensive travel all over the world.

The "worst" thing that happened was actually people asking what great watch I was wearing.

Maybe it generated some more customers for Lüm-Tec.

You guys are truly taking the **** ha ha!!. Sito is going to be too terrified to leave his bedroom let alone leaving the front door. Sito bight the bullet and go to somewhere like Cambodia or Laos and sample a bit life and who knows you might even enjoy it. People there are too busy trying to live let alone what watch you're wearing.
On your Lum Tec wrist days I'd stay in the house and peek out the windows.

One can never be too careful, you know.

When Rockstar games went to Brazil to make Max Payne 3 their security made them take off their watches and put on either nothing or cheap Casios. There are places where an expensive watch is worth your life. People often think my my M24 is a Panerai or expensive Swiss watch. It all depends where you're going.

Luminated I think crime is far different all over the world. And no one can tell if it's Swiss or American from 6 feet away, but they can tell it's expensive.

I do see your point though if you are going to place where poverty is plentiful then of course you use your grey matter and dress accordingly, not only your watch.
