Hello guys,

Well finally after winning this grail over a month ago, she's on her way from the Seiko Service center in Tokyo Japan to me here in New York.

She's an all original Seiko automatic 6309-7290 150m Diver from eons ago, but having been hardly worn at all by the Original owner & still showing some of the caseback decal remnants intact, it sure looks like a beauty. He sent the watch in for a service as described in his sales post and now she's on her way to my collection.

If you know these watches, then you know that this is the slim tapered case model which comes in at a width of about 42.5mm without the crown & about 45mm including the crown.
The height of the case is about 13mm, and the lug width is 22mm, with the lug to lug case length at about 45mm, with a weight of about 3 oz. (FYI, these are considered rarer than the larger cushion cased 6309-704X divers)

They truely are a perfect size watch that have a great power reserve and the best crown action I've ever handled which is smooth as pure butta...:001_tt1:

I'm pleased to have gotten a nearly new example, and can't wait till she touches down! This will now complete my 6309-729X lineup in addition to the other examples I have.

For the quality they are, one would think they should cost more than they do for many models, and there are some models that are highly priced in the Prospex and Grand Seiko and other lines.

Thanks Angelo, yes I've had this very same feeling for 30 yrs every time

I see or obtain another 6309-704X or 729X divers model. NO matter how old I get or how many of these watches I have had, when a new one comes around I feel that same first feeling I had inside when I saw my very first one.

I know you have had this same love for many years as well, it's a beautiful thing when one reads and see's how much feeling that others have for there cherished favorites.

Yes I know the feeling you have for the Knight's, I saw that in your writing from day 1 with the attraction you displayed for them, it's a universal mutual feeling we all have with our beloved watches in this hobby of WISdom we all share!

I'm about at my full mark with 6309's now and hope to venture into some Seiko 5 Speedtimers soon, as well as some Vintage Seiko 6106 & 6119 dress and sport watches, and a few 7000 series sliderule Flight Chronographs.

I'm actually going to start looking for a bike soon as we were talking a few weeks back, sure would be good to get back on the trails & get some exercise. Maybe catch some air....Supercross next year! lol

Yes it's a beauty even looking past the heavy white balance which bleaced the dial pic somewhat. I saw that it truely was nearly new looking past that and grabed it fast before someone else scored it.

Thanks Enzo, no she doesn't hack or hand wind....it auto winds like butter though

and as your French so nicely says, I love the "Clous De Paris" or (Paris Nails), which since I'm french and understand the the lingo just alittle bit as well as being well versed in the Field of Carpentry, I think it means the Triangular or vintage (Paris Nail head shape) of the 12 O'clock Marker?

PJ, the 'clous de Paris' refers to the pyramid-shaped bumps that run along the outside of the bezel. Many Seiko divers have them. I love that look.

ahh, I got ya now....I thought it may have meant the 12 triangular spearhead marker

But yes the bezels on most Seiko divers have that fantastic heavy duty 2 row multi layer outer ribbed edge, it makes turning or setting the elasped time on the bezel nice & easy.

I guess you won't find one on a factory solid bracelet with solid endlinks...

About the only models you will find that came or come that way is with your beloved Seiko Knights & the S5 Superiors I think.

The solid bracelet and endlinks are of no concern to me really, I'm a rubber strap guy most of the time, but sometimes wear the comfy jubilee on my slim taper 7548 quartz divers.

Good luck with the search Angelo, but I think you would have to go with Wjeans solid Oyster and end links for this or the larger cushion cased 6309, and I'm not aware of any 6309 caliber dress watches that came with OEM solid bracelets.
