Hi,

I recently purchased the Hamilton below. I was browsing an antique store, stumbled on it and really loved the look. It was described by the store as a 987a, 1923 "Square Plain". I've been searching these details online, and have yet to verify whether or not this watch matches that description. Any help anyone could give me identifying the watch or valuing it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

2nd generation Hamilton Square Plain

This is indeed a Square Plain. However, it is the later (and nicer) 2nd generation variety that was available from 1926-29. It likely has a redone enamel dial -- probably done by International Dial.
