Hey Jeff

Are these shots fresh?

I didn't realize it could be that cold in Missouri this time of year. Incidentally I'm sure it will not pass unnoticed that you wore a T-shirt just so you could take pictures of the watch amongst the ice.

Sooooooooo Brave :thumbup::thumbup:

Be well now pal

C O O L shot there Jeff!:biggrin:
Are these shots fresh?

Unfortunately yes, they are very new. :crying:
We were under a severe ice warning on Tues and i ended up working about 18hrs that day :blink:
Luckily for us it never got as bad as predicted, we dodged a bullet and the storm went to the north and south of us where power is still out for 1000's and many trees and lines are still being cleaned up.:cursing:

As for the coat :lol::lol::lol: these were near the end of my very long day and i had been outside for many many hours up to that point and it had been raining cats and dogs most of the day and had finally stopped with the frigid rain. I was setting in my car between live shots for the 5 and the 6 o'clock news and i thought i should run and and get some photos to share.
So really my coat was in the car drying out and i was only out enough to get the photos so its not that bad ...... but you know i will go through being cold to share a picture with you guys :thumbup:

very nice looking watch there jeff.... i also wear my watch on my left arm and wonder if the crown and pushers on the left side are diffucult to operate....was this style made for right arm wearers or is it just better to operate in this fashion?

also, the crown at 2 o'clock, what is it's function, maybe a helium escape valve like my omega smp?

just curious

thanks
just curious
Thank you :wink:

I just love the lefty set-up, the Carlos is a big watch at 47mm and is very easy to wear because of the crown on the left side of the case. It does have screwdown pushers for the chrono that are a little hard for me to screw/unscrew but it feels quite normal activating the chrono function from the left.:001_tt1:

Correct, the crown at 2 is the helium eacape valve.:biggrin:
:)

Jeff,

it looks like you got what OK got. I think the ice line started just a little north and west of me, we just got cold rain and frozen fog. I hear more is on the way, it might catch me this time... I'll get some photos if it does.:thumbup1:

that is a mighty fine looking Oris :thumbup1:, I didn't realize the size, its hard to tell sometime in pics;)

:):)

Wow Jeff...:w00t::w00t::w00t:

What a BEAUTIFUL watch...:001_wub::001_wub:
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but that looks like a left-handed watch.

In fact, I've seen other watches that look like left-handed watches, but are seen on the wrists of right-handers. I believe that Hamilton has one or two.

So, what's the deal?

Do watch companies want us righties to identify more with our lefty friends?

Are we entering the age of dexterous neutral timepieces?

You are correct Grady, it is a ORIS Carlos Coste Limited Edition Chronograph that is a lefty model. ORIS has made 3 lefty chronos that i remember, the Coste, the FlightTimer that you have the link to and an Williams F1 chrono.

I just think its a styling thing, the other brand i collect and know something about is Panerai which also makes several "leftys". :001_unsure:

The Coste has a large 47mm case and the left handed set up makes it wear really well on my left hand without the crown hitting my wrist :wink:

I named mine Nemo :lol:

all these nice pics are making me consider oris more and more
The Coste is my favorite watch right now, though way out of my reach. Thanks for posting those shots. And the POTUS pics on another thread were awesome!:thumbup1:
