On July 5, I packaged my 1665 according to the instructions from RSC (NYC) and took the box to the Downtown Main Post Office to be sent Registered Insured mail.
The only information provided by the tracking number is that the parcel was "Dispatched to Sort Facility" 50 minutes after they "accepted" the parcel.
The watch belonged to my late-father-in-law, was purchased to celebrate a still-classified NEDU event and, most importantly, was a wedding gift from my wife.
I had originally taken it to the only local authorized dealer (a chain store, where the sales "dude" was salivating over my watch) to have them send it in for service (my wife's father regularly took it to the old local authorized dealer -- a mom-n-pop fixture of the community that went belly-up in 2010). I demanded the watch back after the sales "dude" called me to say that "his guy" was willing to service it for less than RSC.
So, I sent it to RSC on my own, instead.
I've called the USPS service line, where they opened a case, since the watch has taken more than 5 days to be delivered, but so far, the only "result" was someone calling me from the wrong local Post Office to say they had no record of the parcel. They at least provided me with the phone number of the correct local Post Office, who told me not to become worried until "Monday or Tuesday."
Now, my stomach is turning summersaults.
Should I relax for a couple more days (as I'm about to go on vacation and basically be off the grid for a week) or should I officially commence freaking out?
