There seem to be two types of Omega owner - those that have 'many' and come by them very easily. Those (like me) come by them through saving up (sometimes for a considerable time).

My question is this: Do the owner(s) of 'many' watches appreciate them as much as those (dare I say it, on a lower income) or those who realise you can only wear one watch at a time, irrespective of how much money you have to spend.

This isn't meant to be a 'hot' topic, just a general feel for what people think about their watch(s). Also, if those who have 'many' appreciate their first, whether it was a gift or a special event purchase.

I have many, many watches, including several Omegas.
My most "special" watch is a $60 Bradley Time Donald Duck quartz watch picked out by my son when he was about 3-or-4 years old.
I appreciate my Omegas for what they are - excellent values, accurate, rugged and very well made. My SMP is the standard I use to gauge the quality of all other luxury watches. I have brands that surpass Omega and brands that aren't up to snuff.
I'm not a single brand loyalist per se. I enjoy watches all across the price and quality spectrum.
But to answer your question, I suppose any watch is less special when you own a ton of 'em.

Hi Karl,

I can answer this accurately.

I have a created a reasonable collection of high end watches over the last 10 years or so. Seven in total. I have just order number eight. A LE Gemini IV Space Walk Speedy. Even though I am in the fortunate position of having seven stunning timepieces already I am SO excited about getting the LE Speedy in 8 days, 21 hours and 3 minutes.

So to summarise. Each time I recieve a new timpiece it's still like Christmas morning for me.

Hey Karl,

I would love to have a few watches,I would love to have kept all the watches I have had in two years.:eek:hmy:

but,my finances don't allow me to and I always feel funny about having more than two watches as I just can't wear them and justify having money tied up in things that are sitting.

At present I am being very decadent and I have two watches,my Omega for play and my Breitling for good occasions.

I do know one thing,I think I enjoy the chase and anticipation of hunting down the ideal watch at the best price better than actually having it.

Don't get me wrong because if I was flush with capital I would have a collection.

I have a few nice watches.. I love each and every one of them. My biggest problem is deciding which one I want to wear and try to pick the watch to match the activity I anticipate for the day or week..

I don't understand the mind set that one is enough

We have tennis shoes for casual occassions, and leather for up-scale events.

We have shorts and jeans, and we have slacks and shirts..

We have jackets and we have tuxedos.

Why do some think that one watch is the end all for everything...That's what makes no sense to me..:confused1:
