Hi,
just joined the forum and so far it has been well worth the trip.
Hope you guys are doing well.
I have many breitlings, but my next watch is set to be an omega seamaster planet ocean with the orange bezel.
I am not sure about which one to go for though??????
Should i go chrono (great looking watch) or non chrono (again great looking watch just alot cheaper)
All opinions gratefully received,
Thanks,
Andrew

Welcome to OMEGALand Andrew

Glad you found your way to us :thumbup1:

OK I take it you're not buying the watch as a tool watch in which case, I think the standard PO chronometer would be a very fine addition to your impressive lineup. Which size are you going for? Remember that it's 42mm and 45.5mm respectively. The main distinguishing feature is the difference in the edging on the bezel

You can read more about it here -

or indeed here about the chronograph

Do remember that the chronograph only comes in the larger size but then again I believe you are used to large watches anyway ;)

A number of our members have these watches so I'm sure they'll chime in with some first hand experience..... or should that be wrist
:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Hope you'll have some time to look around here. As you will have gathered from the above links, we have an extensive resource section here too :thumbup1:

Enjoy your day

great links houston, just made it a whole lot harder.
Before i decide i will have to try one on, not a problem really being a customer of ian blowers they will send the watches up for 7 days to be tried and tested.
Great looking watches and definatley next on my list, unless i find a nice breitling B-1 under £1,000

You're obviously a good customer of theirs by the sound of it Andrew. Never dealt with them before. Not looked at their BBB prices but I know what I can get Omegas for you see ;) ..... and no, I'm not referring to that fellow in Chiswick either. Didn't have a very good experience there a couple of years ago. IMHO the manageress should have been the head honcho or should that be honcho-ress :biggrin:

yeah i sold my patek philipe to them and they ripped me off, i was 18 at the time and not really WIS so was taken advantage of.
Also the service was no where near as good as blowers, hence the reason i deal with blowers and not watches.co.uk
Probably buy my planet ocean from rich at blowers, the only reason i did not buy my aerospace from them was because it was a real bargain from a genuine guy.
Good guys at blowers can't reccomend them enough.
treated me like an adult and so got my buisness, watches.co.uk treated me like a kid so i took a tantrum:T
Anyway c'mon people i need some opinions here.
Thanks,
andrew

OK

Back to the watch.

I would just add that from much that has been discussed in the forums over the past couple of years, a reasonable proportion of owners of the PO ala Orange swap theirs for the standard black. Might it be that the novelty of the orange wears off? I think the black is much more versatile but then again if you have a number of watches, one of them could be citrus I suppose

i wondered that myself, whilst looking at a yellow emergency my heart was thumping yes yes YES! but my head just kept telling me "you'll be bored in a week"
Although i do think the orange is marvellous will have to wait and see.
What is the movement like, i have heard that the co axial had a few problems???
Also is the water resistance good enough for swimming and diving as none of my watches thus far have been much cop in the water, bar the submariner, but even then i was still frightened to touch the pool in it.
And what is Omega customer service like?, never had an Omega so don't really know what to expect.
Thanks Guys,
Andrew

Well the initial cal 2500A had the movement set to high and was over-lubricated but version B and C are top notch. C was produced as a result of a streamlining of production techniques at Omega.

Here's John's overview of the cal 2500

http://watchtalkforums.info/forums/showthread.php?t=266

I know Neil C in the other place has his views which he likes to put out as fact and nothing but fact. :001_rolleyes:

I've had three Co-Axials now, a 2500A in my original 39.2mm black AT, a 2500B in the 42.2mm blue AT which is now in the loving care of the Trickster Dickster and a 2500C which came with the De Ville Byzantium. They all kept time to within + 1 sec daily. The blue AT was best of all at +/- 0.10 to 0.15 sec.

Omega's service center in the UK is in Eastleigh. The only time I used them was two years ago and the comms and service were first class. I wouldn't worry Andrew. I should add that the blue AT was manhandled by the dealer and Eastleigh set it right. :thumbup1:

Hope the above is useful pal

Be well now

Mr. Dawson,

Yes, you should feel comfortable taking a Planet Ocean in water. In fact IMHO, not using a Planet Ocean in water is a sad waste of ability. This watch will survive much deeper diving than a person can survive.

Best wishes,
Diver
