Hey guys,

I recently purchased a vintage FL. I could not find anything on the internet about it and was wondering if you could help confirm its authenticity ? It bears a ref of 6109-42 6609-42
I have attached reasonable pictures and it runs on an ETA 2824 movement.

I usually search for such info online, mostly successfully, but this time it turned up with nothing !

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT : I suspect the dial to be a repaint, but can't say for sure due to the textured waffle dial .

Thank you ! Watch Analog watch Photograph White Light

There are numerous pages of information about Favre-Leuba on the Internet. Favre-Leuba has been around for a very long time and in fact are the 2nd oldest watch company still based in Switzerland. They are heavily faked in countries such as India, Viet Nam, China etc. While you probably wont find anything specific about your watch, with the ETA 2824 it does appear to be legitimate.

Haha tell me about it ! I am from India and began collecting vintages a couple of years ago. Gone through about 150 to 180 watches so far. The fakes and repaints we get here are amazing, which is a sad thing to say.
The market is mostly filled with junk since import duties are so high ( close to 70 %) so we have to make due with what we have.

That said, I am aware of the brand and its history. But this one has me confused. The only thing I could find online was a vague image from AUS with a phone number on it. This was after searching for 'Favre Lueba Royal Oak' (yes - I went there 😂)
I contacted him and he said it was a legit 80's model. And not much else. I didn't want to bother him anymore, so.here I am. Image attached
