hello. what approx year is this from? It says conquest with a fish on the back? it was my grandfather's.

That is a nice vintage Longines. Longines has used that 'Conquest' name for a long time but I would suggest mid 1950's to very early 1960's for this one. If you want to know the history of that watch, follow the instructions in Post #3 of this thread It will mean that you need to remove the back off that watch case though.
