I have never used that brand but I have known of it for many years and that it is supposed to be quality. There was alao a listing for 1,000 #344 batteries (I don't remember the brand) for more than $1,000! Maybe Skypilot could use that quantity for his collection.

Battery related question - I recently had someone tell me that Renata batteries were good quality. Can someone confirm or deny that statement? Opinions?

I, too, have heard good things about Renata over the years and have often used them but recently there have been a couple posts here about Renata batteries leaking. Never experienced that problem myself.

...I may be totally wrong here, but I don't believe the Varta brand is commonly encountered in the US. However, it is a long-established and respected brand in the UK and Europe (and possibly other parts of the world, too)...I wouldn't expect any problems with those...

Update, I just bought a 10 pak. Did the price go down from the original posting? 10 pack is now listed at two dollars and change. I recall it was higher, correct? I did ask the seller if these were fresh batteries and whether they had a date on them. No response as of yet.

Uh, I paid $13.88 with free ship. What happened? I just ordered another box. As for date - he didn't mention that in his post but his rating is 99% for over 24K items sold. I sent a message, too, asking what was up and if they made a mistake in the listing.

Yes, I thought it was a mistake also; however, the percentage off the previous price section was correct. Then, I thought they may have been trying to get rid of older, dated and expired batteries. At less than three bucks with free shipping, I'll bite

Likewise, I purchased a box of 10 yesterday... Sent a message to the seller asking for an
explanation of the radical pricing change and stating if my order was not shipped yet to
cancel and refund my 13+change bucks...

Real bummer... I see he has listed several sales at the 2.21 tab, that's twenty two cents each
including post.

It is interesting. While I would like a rebate of the difference if the price has truly been reduced that much, I will still be satisfied as now with 10 at $13.88 and 10 at $2.21 that averages out to a still fantastic price for the 344. I did receive a ship notice & track number yesterday for the first batch. Tracking shows expected delivery by Fri. Who knows.

Yeah. I went to the transaction on 'bay and the tracking info had started within 2 hours of
the purchase. Haven't looked for a reply of my nasty gram but thinking of another order,
as you stated, the second 10 @ $2.21 still is a good price for these cells if they are
relatively fresh (within one or two years old!)...

Delivery for first batch at $13.88 probably tomorrow. Shipping confirmation for second batch at $2.21 received. Absolutely no response to message sent. May know something soon about freshness. I'm not too worried as batteries usually last beyond "expiration" date and I will use them up fast.

More gyrations with pricing of these battery's... Apparently the total stock on hand
was 152 boxes of 10 cells. Currently their inventory shows as 144... This is noted
from the current revision of the original posting (eBay item 271215403727)

So far 9 ten cell boxes have been sold, 4 at $13.88 and 5 at $2.21 ...

However, if you go to that listing now you will find it changed once more to
10 boxes of ten battery's @ 29.95....

I have not received a response to my email note but they list a 800 phone number
in their "ME" listing. Perhaps someone (other than me, I'm too angry over this action)
to get the full logic to these shenanigans with pricing...

"ulackfocus" comes to mind, he is in retail management and would be able to
comprehend this mess... Dennis?

Just got an email from their customer service appologizing for the mixup and stating the price should be $13.88. My link in the first post took me to a listing of $22.46 for ten batteries. Go figure.

Update: my first set ais out for delivery. Only problem - it's from the wrong P.O. In the wrong state. This isn't the first or second time this has happened with my packages since the USPS closed our local sorting center and moved all sorting to Baltimore.
