Hello all! Wanted to update the community here on my experience with the 300M-2 this winter. Sorry for the very slow update - I have been travelling a great deal in the last few months.
So, the original post is viewable here:

... and it details some problems I had with the alignment of the bezel, a very stuck bracelet (impossible for me to remove), and what I thought was a bad PVD coating on the clasp.
I sent the watch back out to Lüm-Tec and they fixed everything with the following feedback:
- The bezel was in fact misaligned, and they corrected it perfectly. They actually gave the watch an entire new head, and then timed and regulated it again before sending it back. (wow)
- The bracelet was apparently not stuck for them, and they were able to detach and reattach it without issue. I had them send it back and was able to remove it myself afterwards (not really sure what happened here... it was definitely stuck before, but as long as it isn't now, everyone wins! :laugh
. The bracelet remains extremely hard to reattach, but I prefer not to wear it anyway, so again, no problem in the end!
- Under high magnification they noted wear grooves in the clasp indicative of metal contact/grinding. Explanation: I must have dinged it on something else and not noticed it until I dinged it on my wooden desk. I guess what I attributed to a possibly faulty PVD was actually faulty hand eye coordination or perception.:blushing:
- The rest was minor and not really worth noting here.
So, all in all, I wanted to say that Chris and the rest of the staff at Lüm-Tec really went above and beyond to take care of my concerns and to correct all the problems I had with the 300M-2. It has left my wrist only rarely since I got it back a week or so after Christmas - only put it down a few times for my Stowa Fleiger for more understated occasions. I have been impressed with how well it keeps time and how sturdy it feels day in and out. Really hoping I have a chance to take it for a dip this summer!
Here's a photo of 300M-2 E036 on a new ballistic strap from Rob at The StrapSmith, which just arrived today. Couldn't be happier with the watch... and am now very eagerly awaiting my 40mm M66 later this year.
