start with a sieko, orient, or citizen i don't like fashion brands though i believe gucci started in early 1900's and they are swiss
casio has some nice digital solar watches with digital compasses

Resin vs SS vs Titanium?
Compass or no compass?
Depth or no depth?
water resistance or no water resistance?
Multi-Alarm, no alarm, or one alarm?
