Hello all,
I just purchased a 4525. The MOP dial looks fantastic, but I have reservations about the black plating. It hasn't arrived, yet, so I haven't gotten a chance to see it up close. Any feeback on the IP plating? Will I be dissapointed in how it wears. I already have 5 Invictas. My favorite is my all steel Sentinel, with a silver dial. I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten on that one.

Take care
Paul

I have the blue version 4527. Congrats, I've only worn mine twice. Because of the textured bracelet where it has IP, I too worry about the IP coming off. It's my one of my favorites, but I'm worried about durability also. Does anyone else have a textured bracelet with IP? Any problems?

I have a reserve pro diver 4616 meteorite with ip , I've owned since September. I do wear it frequently but try not to beat it up to bad. After a few weeks there was a good nick in the crown, I know it took a good hit but can't remember how. Just last night I noticed on the inside of the bracelet it has a few nicks also. I love the look and feel of the watch but I am a bit concerned about how it will hold up in a few years. If I didn't put out $1400. It wouldn't bother me as much but on this one I wish I would have went with the ss.

I own 3 Invictas in IP Black and 4 in Gunmetal. They all are worn regularly although I admit to being VERY careful about my watches.

Not a single issue involving wear, plating failure or discoloration.

I have two, but I have only owned both for a couple of weeks so no wear yet. But I have noticed the desk diver scratches the IP but doesn't wear it. So it seems to me that it can be scratched a bit before showing the SS underneath. Like others, after the first day of wear I now make sure I have a piece of paper or something under my wrist to protect the bottom of the bracelet. If anything, the IP looks cool!

Recieved my 4525, with IP plating..............

I have to say, it's a gorgeous watch. The plating looks a lot better in person, than in the pics on line. The plating on hte bracelet has a mat finish, while the outer bezel, is shiney. There are only 2 issues. The black MOP dial is basically just that, black, with maybe a few shades of gray. Not really a problem, still looks great. The real issue is, the second hand skips a lot. It's OK, if it's lying flat, but it skips really bad if it's upright, or resting on it's side.

Is the skipping a common issue with the 21 jewel movement?

Take care,

Hey Paul,
Welcome to The Original Invicta Forum. I have heard this is common with the Miyota movement but it does not affect it's accuracy.
