Hi all,
Yet another forum I'm happy to have found and hope to be a long time member of. I've been looking at PPs for some time and have finally run across a combination I really like AND it is local to me so I can have it checked out in person. I'm not yet informed enough, however, to know what price range would be considered the "right buy" for this vintage piece that is supposed to be all original except for the band. Other thing I'm curious about is the affect the Merrick marking might have. Would appreciate any thoughts and I should be able to gather any specific info that might help me make this long awaited purchase.

Sorry, looks like it could be a fake to me, though I'm far from a vintage expert and it could be legit. If it is fake, then that "Patek" is only worth the price of the bullet used to put right thru the movement & dial. If it's not, I can't help you with value..

You don't have to take it to a expert. Pp tend not to make ugly movements. That my friend is fugly. Saved ya a trip.

This is obviously a 19th century Patek pocket watch movement that has been put into an aftermarket wrist watch case. I don't know why so many people come on here and provide blatantly false info as if it were fact.

I'm glad it's so obvious to you... And you really don't know why people on a Internet forum give their opinions on bad pictures of watches, that could easily be fake/franken? Um.... Cause that's what they do? And I'm glad you're an expert on 19th century pocket watch movements put into another case, with no possible way of any parts being switched out... But by the way, when first time posters ask if this blurry pictured pp is fake, they usually are....

I've seen dozens of these kinds of hybrid watches that have genuine Patek movements (you call ugly, I call beautiful. I particularly enjoy the wolfs tooth winding wheels.) put into newly made aftermarket cases to be worn as wristwatches.

Check from i.e. internet how PP movements typically look like.
