I've found that when shooting the EL WTF, I keep trying to catch that blue second hand just right; maybe making it nice and vivid against that gorgeous dial. Nothing seemed to be working for me, so I decided to go the other way:

Nice job going with the B&W. The contrast and shadows are superb!
Great shot Steve!

You have given me something to think about with the blue second hand though. If I get the time I will play around with that tonight!

Nice shots. Great shadowing technique.
Excellent Steve.
Sometimes a black and white picture gives the watch a whole new perspective.
It appears as though you have purchased John's new book MACRO WATCH PHOTOGRAPHY FOR BEGINNERS .
Yes, I know a shameless plug for John's book.

Great shot - the black and white shows its a fantastic looking watch even without colour.
That reminds me, what happened to the WTF photo contest? Did I miss it? Where are the photos that were entered, so I can at least see what was entered?
Cheers.

a problem occurred that prevented that from being able to happen. I thought all those that purchased the watches received an email explaining why. I got one and guess I assumed everyone else did. Yours could have gone to your junk mail. If you or anyone else did not get one PM me with your email address and if I still have my email (will have to look) I will forward it to you. I understood and accepted the reason, personally. It was a shame but sometimes things happen. Gerard may or may not be able to shed more light on this. It was not he that was going to do the contest but he may have more info.

But, that would not stop anyone of us owners from doing one sometime for "bragging" rights.:001_tt2:

I never got the email you folks are talking about either, but I'm aware of the situation.

several members have expressed their disappointment that the contest part of the deal has not occurred, I for one actually worked pretty hard on taking some photos, but I enjoy taking pictures.
