My PO has the SS bracelet which comes with the diver extension. From time to time it will open up if I make a quick jolt or is is pressured to do so. Is this normal and/or does it happen to you guys?

Shouldn't do so Mike.

Have you checked to see that it is securely fixed? It should hook in under a bar on the underside of the clasp. It should then be very secure :thumbup1:

Here's an extract from Chronocentric.

Hope you're keeping well my friend

Hey, Mike, don't you love this watch or what? I love how heavy and solid it feels on the wrist and the clasp gives it an even greater sense of security like it will never leave your wrist. I also love the generously applied SuperLuminova to all of the hands and hour markers. It really lights up brightly even when I walk down say a dimly lit corridor. This combined with the anti-reflective (AR) coating on either sides of the crystal really gives an overall fine experience for the owner when he/she takes a glance down at the dial. I feel like I'm wearing a watch two or three times the price tag, it's really great.
One other thing about this piece that I must note is that when I first purchased this watch it seemed a bit more understated than it apparently is. I often get envious stares and sometimes it makes me feel a little uncomfortable. Perhaps its the way the light bounces off the sateen bracelet or the way the orange second hand gently sweeps accross the matt-black dial. I think it just exudes a sense of high value that sometimes may give off the wrong idea. Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing?

I love the watch, however, I bought mine with the orange numbers and at first I love it but I think I may be a little unhappy with them. Nevertheless, the ruggedness o this watch is what truly makes me happy. i love it! The most impressive thing is the clasp. When I compare it to my fathers rolex submariner, I feel that the clasp itself is sturdier and stronger than the rolex.

one thing I am considering doing is purchasing the rubber strap from ofrei, which is quite expensive, chaning the ss bracelet (for a while) to enjoy a different feel. However, I have not decided on whether I am going to do this because of the price of the bracelet and the possiblity of scratching the watch in attemtping to remove and attach the bracele and strap respectively.

I've liked the PO with the numbers ala 'orange best of all. The standard white numerals and black bezel is a modern classic too but I think the orange numbers give it a certain buzz.

Were I a diver I'd be happy with either.

I agree Mike that the bracelet and clasp have a very solid feel. The watch wore well on my wrist when I first tried it out back in the summer of '05, its' introductory year. It felt classy and expensive as well, if a touch bigger than the 300M SMP. These days I'm more of a chronograph person and the Speedy is just the right size. The PO chrono at 45mm is just too big for me.

Wish you well pal

Hey Houston I have the non-chronograph with the 42mm (which im sure Mike does as well) and this one is just perfect. I tried on the 45mm and it was just way too big for me.. the lugs were hanging over my wrist.
@Mike, I actually wanted to get the one a la the orange numerals like you have, but Tourneau Jewelers didn't have this one in stock and so I just went with the one with the white numerals. Maybe we can swap... you send first! haha I don't have any regrets at all with this one, the white numerals give an overall sense of class and timelessness, but as Houston has said, I'm sure the orange gives off a certain sort of buzz.
At first I wasn't sure about the double AR coating, but it seems to be more durable than it seems. I also like how it gives off a kind of purple hue. It gives a sense of wonder and awe, I think, to any bystanders and provides an extremely high degree of readability to the wearer. Overall I think this is much more watch than it's direct competitor (we all know what it is) and is an overall greater value and better watch all around. It seems to me like if both watches were placed side to side and someone had to choose, taking the price into effect, the ONLY way someone would chose the other would be for the name on the dial and that's it, IMHO.

I agree. The 42mm on this watch is big enough for my wrist too. The PO wears so much larger. It's a beefier watch than Omega's previous divers, well, except for the Ploprof but that is something else.

You're right in that the white numerals bear a timeless quality and character. I too enjoy the double AR coating. It was one of the aspects of this watch that I originally found very attractive. I gather it enhances the underwater visibility of the dial. As you may have gathered from other discussions in OMEGALand, I like dials which are very visible.

The PO's a lovely watch - no doubt about it and it's here to stay
