That the steel & gold Yachtmaster has the exact same weight as a platinum Yachtmaster? Despite the fact that the steel & gold has hollow gold center links where the steel & platinum version has solid center links.

I thought they weighed close to the same, but didn't expect them to be the same. Both are 149 grams.

Thanks for this very interesting nugget.

One thing I am discovering among all watch enthusiasts (and among Rolex ones in particular), is that there is nothing too trivial to not to want to know about it. :wink:

What I found most facinating was how he removed the platinum YM bezel and compared it to the weight of the Submariner.

And in a more general sense, in the past few weeks on this forum alone, I've come across topics about a Rolex in outer space, discussions about price and demand, about price control, etc, etc.

Look carefully, and that past paragraph contains topics spanning: Physics, Economics, possibly Antitrust Law as well.

More than enough to keep an info geek like me happy.
