The video was shot at just past 5:45 - 5 single tone chimes signify the hours, and 3 dual tone chimes signify each quarter past the hour.... hence the name quarter repeater.
Oh, and the dial does look pretty good too. :wink:
Do you have a fob and a waist coat? (waist coat = vest as in 3 piece suit) One of the things missing in today's fashion that a pocket watch can help reclaim is the waist coat. I'm all in for pocket watches. I've been eyeing them with a greedy glint. Nice piece!
I can't vouch for how original this is. Not even sure the hands came from an Elgin.
You see, back in my motorcycle days I wanted a dependable 12S pocket watch that I could take out biking.
So, I assembled this watch from several Elgin's I had in my Elgin parts box.
However, I am quite certain THIS 12S Elgin is all original.
That short video in my OP should have sound - 5 single tone bells and 3 dual tone bells.
