The numbers model numbers that can be decoded to deduce the type of watch. Here is a primer I found from minorjewelry.com....That is a great looking watch. one thing I do not understand is the catagorizing of models in terms of the numbering, ie..11671 etc. Anyone care to explain?
Rolex model numbers currently are either four or five digits. The first two or three describes the type of watch. On five digit model number the second from the last describes the type of bezel (some exceptions) and the last describes the material that the watch is made from.
