The COSC diver is here.
It's the same one I sent back as defective.
The only thing different this time is the cosc papers are missing.

Back she comes........

What a disaster! I do believe I'd be calling Shop NBC and give them an earful. I'd also email Skelton and let him know that this stuff is happening. Finally, I'd email Invicta and inform them of your troubles. People at the top need to know when this kind of mismanagement is going on.

The Reserve collection is a great idea, but if you want to charge a premium price, you have to deliver a premium experience. Ultimately, this may be an impossible task to consistently do through internet and tv sales.

So sorry to hear about this Pete. I was really hoping for the best.

You know the saying... THIRD time's the charm.

Get a refund and move on to a brand and vendor that cares about their customers. Inexcusable.

If it wasn't so annoying, it would be funny!
But I believe our TV host member is offering these "one-time only" pieces AGAIN as a "host pick." Maybe you'll have better luck there.
Amazing how One Time Only stuff keeps coming back.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that the brand does not care about their customers. Every watch brand manufactures duds once in a while. It is Shop NBC's responsibility to accept the returned merchandise, inspect it, and if there is a flaw or defect, either put it on their auction site or send it back to Invicta for repair. SNBC has almost become a running joke. People continue to order from them because they have exclusive offerings, extend value pays, allow for a five year warranty, and offer some pretty incredible deals from time to time. That said, people around here also are aware that it is a roll of the dice whether you will get a new watch or not. Some are willing to take the risk.

On the other hand, I can't imagine a brick and mortar AD recycling defective Invictas to new customers. And I also haven't heard a single unresolved problem associated with Invictas and any of our sponsors, nor any complaints about them recirculating watches, so someone must be doing something right with QC. If Invicta is this company with no quality controls, no sympathy for the customer, and has a liar for a CEO (this has been stated around here before), then why do we not hear the same horror stories from unhappy customers who have done business with Triton's Treasures or our other vendors? I think the explanation is pretty self-evident.

I am all about supporting Pete and empathizing with him over this disappointing transaction, but I don't really think that is any reason to declare an open season on Invicta.

Other than the watch being defective, this ain't Invicta's fault (of course a bad product caused the problem in the first place). The issue is really with the seller and it's sloppy policies.
If I were still a huge Invicta fan, I'd give my business to one of our sponsors, who care about the forum and our business. That TV place doesn't really care about watch geeks or watch forums. (That's not to say the hosts don't. but they're employees).

The unfortunate thing is this particular model - the no bling COSC Reserve - was only available through SNBC, so if you wanted the watch there was only one place to get it.

I'm not bashing Invicta, but I have much, much more confidence in SWI.

Found this in the sales forum:

Rolex K serial 118239 White Gold Mens President with meteorite dial with pear diamonds at 6 and 9. Retail on this one $28,900!!! It is MINT, super tight bracelet with all links and a couple of tiny hairlines on the case, not even worth mentioning. Box, papers and everything else is there. I can do this for $16,500. which is well below the wholesale value.

I posted a question back in the Fall about whether or not Invicta was squeezing out the little guy, and almost to a man, the response was, "no, Shop NBC is good for business because of the trickle-down effect." That is, Snbc's Invicta exposure means everyone sells more watches... unfortunately just not the same models.:D

One of my biggest beefs has always been that Invicta gives Shop NBC preferred treatment at the expense of its other vendors. But I kind of thought I was the only one.

Remember this post back in the good old days?http://jholbrook.proboards33.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Invicta&thread=1194974934&page=1

My point, which I should have made clearer, is that this practice of selling returned watches as new has been reported as long as I remember, and Invicta (and other brands as well) allows ShopNBC, their largest and most visible volume vendor, to continue the practice. They know it happens and have not taken steps on their end to eliminate it, and the number of defective Invicta watches being delivered by ShopNBC cannot possibly ALL be ShopNBC's fault. All returns should be shipped back to Invicta, and either repaired or repackaged to be sold as reurbished or reconditioned like other vendors do. They should not resell returns as new, and this is a perfect example why, although ShopNBC is just as culpable IMO in this situation. To ship the SAME customer the SAME defective watch is inexcusable.

I apologize to the other Invicta dealers who inspect the watches prior to shipping them to their customers, as they obviously exhibit alot more care than does ShopNBC.

Defective pieces should be sent back to invicta by the seller as standard operating proceedure! I do not think any inspection by a qualified party is done when these watches are returned. They may look ok in some instances; however, they may be defects in the movements, etc. That is what I just experienced. I don't mind getting an item someone returned simply because they looked at it and did not like it or it was just too big; however, getting defective pieces is way too common. I guess that is the price of doing business over the internet!

In reading the reviews on the mentioned sellers web page, I see another report of a watch with the same problem as the one they sent me. Probably the exact same watch.
I recognized the watch immediately due to a particularly unattractive blemish on the meteorite dial. Also the fact that the movement moved back and forth in the case when pulling the crown tells me this watch probably has a plastic spacer holding the movement in place. At $1200 this could have been something more secure than the plastic ring.

I have pretty much sworn off of Invicta at this point. I have a couple of pieces that I will not part with, but the rest will be going to market soon.

Unfortunately, and sadly I think that certian retailer is reaching new lows when I hear this situation. I hope the return goes without a hitch.
I always send packages back using priority mail with insurance and I have yet to have a problem..... So in that regard they have been ok.
