I discovered this forum yesterday when I tried to determine some history for an Omega Automatic watch that my mother gave me. It was her second husbands watch. I did as much research as I could online. Thank you to the members of this forum for your input. I ran accross a Omega Automatic watch which was very close to my watch, as far as serial numbers, etc. The serial number to my movement is 10817664. The serial number to a watch that i found online is 10814725. Both cases are Wadsworth and the serial numbers of the cases are very close too.

I can not find anything on either of these two movements that looks like a reference number. Both movements are identical except for the serial number, and they are very close in their serial numbers. The other watch is identified as having a Caliber 28,10 RA movement. Can I safely assume that my watch has the same movement because they are identical in appearance and so close in serial numbers? Apparently the Caliber 28,10 RA movement is a well respected.

On the case back you will find the reference number and you can use that to search the Omega Vintage Watches Information site.

Hi Bill. That serial number dates the watch to 1946. On the movement will be an Ω symbol. Directly below it is the caliber number. As Brian has mentioned, the inside of the caseback will have the reference number. How about some more pictures? Dial, inside of the caseback, etc.
