Good read, mgiraz. Yesterday the ritual of checking time was pulling a watch out of a vest.
Today, it is opening a cell phone in the middle of a movie presentation so the bright screen illuminates half the theatre.

I have a friend who is quite famous in his field and he always wears a three-piece suit and wears a pocket watch on a chain when dressing for business. For casual wear, he is in jeans and shirt and a cowboy vest - with pocket watch and chain. He'd ride a horse or in a horse-drawn buggy if he didn't live in a large city. He is perfectly content to let "progress" pass him by as much as possible.
