I'm a little slow here. I see the main hour/minute hands, but what do the two subdials represent? Two different time zones or is the left one minutes and the right hours?

The optical illusion is that the long hand looked crooked but it's not.

In other words it's like a regulator clock = just a central hand for the minutes. The subdials are for local and world hours.

By that rationale, same thing applies to anything that's not immediately clear is worthless? Think computers, microwaves, smartphones, watches (not necessarily the expensive ones), windows 8, airplanes, etc...
