Why the "Urgent" mark on this thread? :confused1:

Personally, I can't stand the proliferation of RO & ROO "limited" editions. And the more I see the jumbo RO's - and you'd think AP only makes that series judging by their proliferation and the lack all the other fine watches made by AP - the less I like it. So if I had to choose between the watches pictured I'd want...... neither, although a slight edge would go to the PP.

I will admit that the original RO's size was great. Too bad they've blown up and very few sub-37 mm models are around. I think you forgot to mention the Vacheron Constantin Overseas, which would be my choice in 37 mm.

For a dress watch, you could by 3 AP's for the price of 1 PP. There are 2 AP's in my box and I have my eye on a 3rd, and 0 PP's - although the 5127 in rose gold is a stunner and if I had the money I would probably own one.

Are you curious about the 2 brands, or those 2 individual watches? Out of those 2 pieces, there's no question. The nautilus is arguably the best "sports watch", (who would play a sport rocking this?!), ever made. The roo, especially the one pictured, is a over the top version of arguably the 2nd best "sport watch" ever, the royal oak. So the nautilus wins this one every time. Now between the 2 manufactures? Splitting hairs. They're both fantastic manufactures. Pp will retain it's value better, but you should consider yourself blessed to own either pp or ap IMO.

Just curious about the 2 brands. Don't have the money to own 2.So I thought owing either one is good enough for me. But can't decide which brand. AP or Patek??/:cursing::w00t:

They're both great watches and 2 models I'd love to own. But it also depends on how you'd be wearing them. The ROO pictured isn't my favorite, and I agree with Dennis they have more limited editions than 'normal' ones. But, there are a lot of great looking ROO's IMO. But the Nautilus is just pure perfection.

This would be a very difficult decision and would come down to what I'll be wearing it for. If it's a 'casual sport' like wearing with jeans or to go to the park, etc. then the Nautilus wins. But if I'm actually going to use it as a sport watch, diving, pool time, etc. then it's the ROO.

I think 9pm was asking about the brands, not the watches in the original post (or am I wrong in this, 9pm?).
Considering what each brand is capable of producing, I think the examples in the pics are not very good indicators of either brand (apologies to anyone who owns or longs for either watch in the pics). Both brands produce some beautiful models, you wouldn't go wrong with either brand (depending on the model). Buy what appeals to you - just don't overpay for whatever you choose...

I wanted an AP RO and a Nautilus. I bought the 5712 first. I still would love a RO but I can not decide between the 15300, 15400 or the 15202. You can not go wrong with either brand, they are both special watch brands! They are the top of the watch pyramid.

I wouldn't mind something from the Jules Audemars collection or the classic but they are not something I would lust after. The rest of the collection is meh to me. Patek has a number of models that I could lust after (if acquiring them were within the realm of reality for me).
