Yea, found the charts after I posted. But does anyone know or remember roughly when the D's stopped being seen in stores? Or are they still there?

Also, did any of the D's have a clear sticker on the back instead of the green hologram one?

Scott - keep in mind that what's in a dealer's case usually stays there until they sell it. It's not uncommon to see 2 or even three serials back in a dealer case if its a slow seller. Examples don't just suddenly stop being in stores because Rolex starts a new production series. What you see in a dealer's case will just depend on the dealer.

I understand the stock will be there until it sells. I'm just trying to get a feeling for on average how long that usually is..

Ok - so seeing a D or even possibly an F wouldn't be unheard of now? I also assume the stock could sit in one of Rolex's distribution centers for several months, maybe even a year if the models not a hot seller, and then in the AD distribution system too.

Hey Scott,

I bought a Z series ss/plat ym in Mar 07. Also at the same time I picked up a 35mm (midsize) ss/plat ym for my wife. At the time they had a D series in the show case (Z series in the back safe). I guess the ym is not that popular and they had a few older pieces in stock.

In the 35mm size they only had a F & D series, no Z series.

As for the clear sticker...late Zseries and newer. Definitely not clear ona D series.

Hope this helps.

Clear sticker

Hello Scott,

There are still many D series Rolexes out there and as for the clear sticker....Yes i personally saw a D series SS/18kt White gold Turnograph with a clear sticker on back three days ago. Bear in mind that Rolex does vary the back sticker arrangement every now and then. Both my "M" series GMT IIc and my M series TT Sub have clear sticker on back with a little green offset on the edge and no model# printed nor the red line across, the again I saw Z series with clear sticker model number and no green offset nor red line. Crazy Huh!!

Rolex has consistently manufactured more than one seriel letter prefix at a time..

There is no proof that they stopped producing/shipping "D" models when the "Z" models started appearing in the marketplace..

Likewise, we know that "M" is the latest, but there is nothing to prove that they have ceaased production of "Z" models......or even "D" for that matter..

It's a guessing game. These lists are based on invoices that show the earliest and latest dates.

I would bet that in the future, these "lists" will show that "D"s were around from late 2005/2006 to 2008, "Z" from 2007 to 2009, and "M" from late 2007/2008 to 2010.
