I posted earlier where my cousin and myself are awaiting Combat B17s, well yesterday was the day for his to arrive. I showed up to his house around 0815 just as he was returning from UPS. Since I have always purchased my watches used, I was super excited to see one being opened brand new. We step into his house, put the UPS box on the coffee table, and gave each other the "go ahead" nod. My cousin pulled out his knife and began opening the box as if he was a trained bomb squad technician defusing a letter bomb. He slowly pulled out the White Lum-Tec box and opened it pulling out the top certificate and the foam paper to reveal the beautiful wood box with the steel Lum-Tec logo on top. This was it, the moment of truth. He took a deep breath and slowly opened the box yelling, "behold excalibu...." but he was cut off. He had a look of pure terror as he realized that the box did not contain his Combat B17, but an M59 GMT!!!!! He unfortunately in an effort to save on shipping purchased his watch off of amazon from a Lum-Tec dealer. The condition of the M59 was terrible, it had no protective stickers and was completely covered in dust. It looked as if it was packaged at a saw mill. My cousin immediately began arranging a return, and in the process contacted Lum-Tec directly to notify them of the problem. Litterally 15 minutes later he gets a call from an Ohio number. He asks "who do you think that is" I said "DUDE that is where Lum-Tec is located!" Sure enough, not only was Lum-Tec calling him, but Bes the general manager!!! He had already contacted the president of the dealer that sold the watch, and offered my cousin a nice discount to order directly from the Lum-Tec site. To sum it up, I will now and forever be a die-hard Lum-Tec fan for the rest of my life. It was very cool to witness their awesome customer service first hand.
