Did you know what the largest selling, jeweled movement, watch was in 1968?

Hamilton?.....Hint ..This is not in the Hamilton Forum!

Bulova you say? Close but no cigar........................

Caravelle! A line Bulova introduced in 1962 that sold between $10.95 and $29.95!

Oh...And one more thing.......Those jeweled movements were made by Citizen of Japan......Hmmmmmm And Citizen buys them 48 years later!

What goes around comes around. The execs at Citizen sure took their time deciding whether to buy or not.;)

I had a Caravelle when I was about 14.

One of my dad's best friends was a watch repairman and he highly recommended the watch to my parents.

In those days, the dial read only "Caravelle" and not "Caravelle by Bulova."

I've seen some Caravelles that struck my fancy, but I don't like that "Caravelle by Bulova."

If a name can't stand on its own, then it should be dropped.
