Wilfreb, you will like the watch I am sure. This was my first Invicta purchase, simply because I have always liked the look of the Rolex Submariner which I intended on buying back in 98 however when I went to the dealer to look at the watch, the Explorer II caught my eye. I ended up buying it rather than the Sub as I liked the idea of having the 24 hour time as well. I have wanted to own a sub as well, but here in Canada the costs are crazy, not to mention the 13% sales tax. I would also be relectant to buy from Ebay as there are so many good "replicas - fakes" out there, who is to say what you think your getting is what you will get! So the genuine article will wait till I have some extra funds to spend while at our familys Florida property.
So, while I wait to get the Submariner I decided to give this Invicta a shot. It is an excellent watch for the money spent. So far the only functional complaint I have is the winding crown is not like what I am used to on the Rolex as well as the Tag watch I own as well the Invicta has a cheaper feel to it when pulled out and screwed back in, it doesnt have the precision feel that my other Swiss watches have. The other small cosmetic pet peeve would be the "SWISS MADE" on the dial, the distance from the 6 hour marker to the M of MADE is greater than the distance from the 6 marker to the last S in SWISS. Perhaps many people wont notice this however with the field of work I am in, I pay close attention to detail and symetry and this is something I noticed. Also, the date switches over around 11:50 pm, whereas the Rolex switches right on the stroke of midnight. Again certainly nothing major!
I have read on here about the overall Finish of the Invictas not being as good as the other brands, while not having any other Invictas to compare to, but being able to compare this watch with a Rolex Explorer II, I find the finish on the Invicta to be every bit as good as the finish on the Exlporer II, of course the Explorer II does not have the polished center links, the Screw in links on the Explorer II finish the braclett somewhat better than the friction pins on the Invicta, but then again, the Explorer II is also 15 times the cost.
Of course those are all very minor items, which I am sure have no bearing at all on the function of the watch. On a scale of 1 - 10 I would have to rate the 4469 a strong 9 out of 10.
Timekeeping. I set it 1 week ago tonight with a radio clock. I checked tonight and the watch was basically running about 10 seconds fast, I know others have reported greater times, but this is my result.
For the cost of the 4469, I seriously wasnt expecting a watch of this quality.
