A newbie who loves Omega

Hi everyone. I only registered today but couldn't wait to post a thread. I've always loved watches but I've only been able to afford the kind I really want in the last few years. The kind I want ... Omega of course. So far I've managed to collect only 2 - a 40th Anniversary 007 Seamaster and a Casino Royale PO. Can anyone spot a common interest?? I absolutely love both of them!
The question I'd like to ask is, where do I go now? Is there a logical progression to my next Omega?
I'd love some feedback and I'll post some pics as soon as I work out exactly how to do it. Thanks for reading my ramblings!!

WELCOME Daniel to the Omega Forum at WTF:thumbup1:

you came to the right place, we really enjoy our Omega watches here for sure.

I think I spot the common interest between the two watches......

pretty cool watches you have there, do you have any pictures, we love pictures around here..

you could go several different ways next, and in a recent disscussion I think the Seamaster and Speedmaster series were the most sought after..

I'm sure several other folks will have words of WISdom for you,

glad you came in,

Welcome Daniel73... Some cool watches you have, and I have to agree with diver88 on this. You could also consider the DeVille range... The Hour Vision looks amazing IMHO (although I haven't handled them myself yet) as do some others in that range... :thumbup1:

You mean there's another kind? Just funnin'!

Sure! Daniel is your screen name, but your real name is James Bond!

The question I'd like to ask is, where do I go now? Is there a logical progression to my next Omega?
I would not presume to advise you as to where to go next. Follow your heart/gut! What you'll get is other folk's ideas on where they would go next. Could be right for you, maybe not. Get to nearby ADs and see what calls out to you.

I'd love some feedback and I'll post some pics as soon as I work out exactly how to do it. Thanks for reading my ramblings!!
If you have a host server for your pics, you are halfway there. If you have problems from there, yell. Lots of help available. Above all, when trying to get your first pics up here, use the "Preview Post" button. That will show whether your code is correct. The alternative is to post scads of times with each attempt failing. Not recommended.

Good luck!
Hello daniel73. Those dive watches are cool. Looking forward to some pics. Being a newbie myself, it was the posts, pics and friendly atmosphere here over the course of several months which helped me decide. The wealth of knowledge and different tastes and viewpoints here at WTF should set you off on a course toward your next purchase.

Hey Daniel

A very warm welcome to WTF and OMEGALand from me too. Good to have you with us.

Well if you'd like to stay with the sports theme, there is arguably no greater icon from the Omega stable than the Speedmaster Professional. It is steeped in history as you know. Why not have a look into our resource section where you'll find archived posts on the Speedy in its' various guises.

Posting pictures is a piece of cake. It would be best to use a picture host. Photobucket is best. It's free to register and use for up to 1,000 images. Now that can't be bad, can it? Here's what you do -

1. Register with a picture host like photobucket.com

2. Once registered, use the choose or browse function on your photobucket homepage to locate the image you wish to post, from your hard drive

PLEASE REMEMBER to set the maximum size of the image
800 x 600 is best
Anything else would make viewing and accessing the page for users difficult.

3. Click SELECT and then UPLOAD

4. Once uploaded, simply copy the fourth option under each image on your photobucket homepage and paste it into the body of your text here. This fourth link is the Image Tag.

There you are - a piece of cake :001_smile:

Hope you'll be able to join us in our daily diet of fun and talk.

Enjoy your evening

Hi there! Since you have two wonderful sport watches, why not consider a dressier model?
A well-rounded collection includes both styles, IMHO.
And welcome to WTF
Look at all the brands, learn as much as you can and follow your heart.

It's sounds like your pocket book will follow without undue stress.
Hi Daniel and a warm welcome to WTF from me too.

Now, we know your first name is Daniel. Looking at your collection of watches: Your surname wouldn't be Craig would it?

Hope you have as much fun here as the rest of us.

Can't wait to see those pictures.
Thanks to everybody for welcoming me into the fold. It's very cool. I think I'm going to be a daily contributor now. I'll certainly learn a bit here which will help me when it comes time to part with some money. I treated myself to my PO last Christmas but I don't think the the piggy bank will allow it this year. I like the idea of a dressier model though. I don't think I'll be able to avoid waiting to see what the other Daniel is wearing next year although I thing another 007 limited edition might be a bit much. Going to get the pictures done in the next couple of days ...

Daniel
Daniel:

We are glad you decided to stay!!! Here is some information to get you started:

No doubt you will find this board quite interesting, as we have multiple forums, each with its own bunch of characters.

Take about 30 seconds to read, and explains the forum.

POSTING PICS

Posting pictures is very easy. Here's what you do -

1. Register with a picture host like photobucket.com
This is a free service for up to 1,000 images.

If you have any questions at all, you have a few options too:

Just post a thread and ask! We answer a wide range here and everyone is willing to help anyone out. For stuff not covered by watches, you can post in the Community Forum.

You can also send an Administrator/Moderator a PM (Private Message) to do that, just click on the person's name, and then select private message.

So, put your seat back in an upright position, tray back in place, and strap yourself in and enjoy WTF!!!

Hope this helps.

:)
