Hi all,

I was just wondering if its normal to be able to hear the rotor winding the watch when its on your wrist?

If I'm writing quietly I can here it wind which is a first for me having only had Breitlings and Rolexes which are silent.

I have a 5960 and I can hear it if I listed closely. I wouldn't worry about it if it is rotating freely in both directions.

My take is that if the watch is still accurate then you should be fine

I don't think I have ever heard either of my two PP's wind.... Maybe I am not paying enough attention?

Today, since I was listening for it (thanks to this thread), I heard my rotor several times.

on my 5135R with cal 324 I hear it quite a bit, 5960P - I can hear it but
a LOT less than 5135 (I guess those zirconium balls in the rotor ball bearing help),
5110 Worldtime - cannot hear at all (makes sense as the mini-rotor is very small)

On the one hand I'm glad to hear that it appears to be normal and my watch is OK. On the other, I'm quite disappointed that Patek would allow this given their commitment to absolute excellence.
Seems like the 324 is the worst culprit.

I enjoy the sound of the rotor myself. I would be quite disappointed if they made it silent... And I sure wouldn't call it "noise".
