I am looking at buying a BNIB Ref 5022 Calatrava Officer's. Per the price lists posted in this forum, this model was last made circa 2006. I have seen a few BNIB like this out there. Is this unusual for ADs to be unloading five year old BNIB Patek watches to gray market dealers? I like this model and the price is right but just wondering . . . why is this?

Would the watch need an immediate service for lubrication? Will the oils be out of place if it sat for five years, maybe more?

My feeling is this watch should be serviced immediately. Why risk accelerated wear caused by components operating with greatly increased friction due to inadequate lubrication. Just my 2 cents.

Turns out they service all such items. By the time I had them evaluate my trade though, it was sold.

Anybody know where else I can get a BNIB or LNIB 5022g at a reasonable price?
