Guys,

I have an opportunity to buy a brand new Last Man on the Moon" 30th Anniversary Speedmaster out of Authorized dealer inventory. It's also 26% off list. I've never been a huge Speedy guy, but they have been grabbing my attention as of late. I went hunting and happened to stumble on this one. It is number 6XX/3000. I really have no idea what the market is on this so I'm hoping for a little insight.

My post count on the new site is low, but I spent a decent amount of time on the old one so I'm not just looking for a one off post. Thanks in advance guys.

:) hello Sabian,

good to see you again,

I personally have been looking at a Speedy also, so if you are drawn to it why not go for it? it's a great watch with a lot of history, not sure how you can go wrong... I've seen discounts from 18% to 30% off so 26% is not bad at all.. if you are exited about it, I say go for it...

Thanks for the warm welcome and your insight on things. I have to admit, I really do like this piece. I guess my biggest issue is the value of the unit and does the "limited" model really offer any real collectability to this particular piece. It seems like Omega releases limited editions of the Speedy almost annually so does this really mean anything in reality when or if it ever comes time to part with it? I purchase mostly pre-owned and I'm proud of the fact that I don't have a single piece I can't get my money back out of so I'm always looking at that component when buying.

Mr Sabian

:) don't just take my word for it please, but what I've seen the limited run of 3000 has already made this worth more in the used market than the 3570.
I would think any manual wind speedy would hold its value pretty well, especially the limited edition ones. but lets see what the Speedy experts say.

Hi Sabian,

I had this very same dilemma at the beginning of the year when I was offered a LE Gemini 4 Space Walk 40th Anniversary Speedy. There were only 2105 of these made. I also got offered that same sort of discount. I was worried that some of the models of Speedy LEs (as you say there are quite a few of them) are not as well recieved as others. However, when only limited to 3000 you should not loose any money on this watch EVER at that sort of discount.

I saw definitely go for it.

Can't wait to see the pictures.

BTW, I pick mine up on the 2nd Feb and I can't wait.:001_rolleyes:

I think I'm gonna have to grab this one gentlemen! Thank you all so much for the valued feedback. I may lay-away the unit for a couple months as I'm in the middle of an adoption so funds are a little (lot) tight right now.

Well Done Sabian

You'll find it a very worthwhile number. Good luck with the adoption too.

If you'd like your post count updated just send John a PM requesting that your post count from the ole' WTF of 85 be amalgated with your current count here.

All my best
