I am trying to become more educated on a 1955 ladies Ref. 3148 that my Grandmother has so we can sell it to help pay for her long term care. She is not the original owner. It was given to her in the 70s. I ordered the extract which is how I found out the year it was manufactured. It is 18k gold. It originally came with a leather strap according to the extract. I doubt the gold band on there now is Patek. The jewelers we have taken it to are giving us estimates of 3k-4k. I know they have to make a profit and the estimates seem reasonable. I just wanted to see if there was anything special about this model since I can find very little information on it anywhere on the web and haven't seen many sale/auction pricing information for this model.

Any insight into the rarity, desirability of this model would be appreciated. I attached some pictures. It seems to be in very good condition and does work.

Thanks,
Brian

Hi,

Nice watch. The bracelet looks very much like a Patek from that period. I bought my watch a gold bracelet PP from 1950 and paid around € 5,000 making $ 6,500. I guess you should get at least $ 5 k and if the dial is enamel, probably a bit more.

Best, Kari

This could sound weird, but I think you would get more if you sold the watch on
a nice new alligator strap and then sold the bracelet separately. Of course you
can always try to sell both at once, but I am just saying that I would not
be surprised if selling them separately would net you more.
