I have a stainless steel bracelet Luminor Marina and it stopped running. I forgot the model number but it's this one http://i.imgur.com/bDgN6.jpg

I sent it to Panerai and they called me back yesterday and said I will need a $500 movement service but also will need a BRAND NEW CASE.

They said there's a dent at the 1 o'clock area and is pushing a bolt in. A new case is $2600!!!

I couldn't believe it. Is there a way around this or any other way to fix it?

Any help appreciated!!

A rep for a company like that would only recommend the absolute proper way to repair something whether it be a watch or any other item. It is a liability for them to recommend anything else, with that said it is possible that a competent repair person could possibly repair the case to work. Of course I am only speaking theory here since I have not seen the watch but it certainly warrants a second opinion from a watchmaker
