This 1964 214 has external power connections. Is this a mod or standard version? Should 1.35 V DC be applied to posts?

Do positive and negative connection positions matter?

Should this clock work with a battery off no eternal power is supplied?

Any help appreciated.

It is not externally powered. They had battery powered versions (like yours) and ones with external power sources. Those terminals send a signal for timing purposes. They were commonly used in aircraft for surveillance camera taking timed interval pictures and fitted to munitions.

As Jake said these should work with an internal battery. It looks like a TE-13, which had a number of options, one of which is an external power option. I would be taking the back off to see what those odd looking terminals connect to.

I vaguely recall seeing one of these in the POH (Pilot's Operating Handbook) for the SR-71 Blackbird. I'll have to go look (in the POH, alas, there's no SR-71 in my hangar.)
