I've found over the years, I was leaving my heavy SLR film cameras, extra bodies, lenses, filters, flash. etc. home, more and more. The basement is cluttered with boxes of mostly 35mm transparencies I don't even look at anymore! I've made an attempt to scan some of the better ones, but I don't even do that anymore.
When digital came out, I decided to give it a try! I bought a decent point and shoot, and found that I could just leave it in the car, and always have it for a photo op. And if it should get stolen, or broken, it's no big deal!
I find a decent small point and shoot is all you need. I'm just so glad that I didn't repeat and buy all DSLR gear again! Now I just clutter up my computer hard drive.
I know the pros and cons about small sensors, and picture quality!
The camera I have now is about 5 years old, and is what I use for my hobbies, and eBay photos!
It's a Panasonic DMC-ZS3, 12X Leica optical zoom f=4.1-49.2mm (25-300mm in 35mm equiv.), 10.1 MP.
