Default Battery for an Armitron digital watch

Does anyone know what battery might fit this Armitron watch?

You may have to remove that white plastic cover and tell us what model quartz movement is inside.

I wasn't referring to the tag, i meant the white plastic cover on the back of the movement and it looks like those 4 flat head screws need to come out to do so. Underneath you may find the manufacturer and model# of the quartz movement and from that track down the battery#.

The Armitron site says there is a style number, 6 digits, on the back of the watch. Does your watch have a style number?

Never mind. Looks like Armitron manuals do not provide movement or battery information.

I tried a few manuals, no battery information, only that 6 digit number which is not on the back cover on this model. I am going to try a 970/971 and hope, I have a feeling, based on the corrosion, the last battery died in it and spewed all through it.

Well, got a battery into the watch but none of the functions other than the elapsed seconds operates. Tried finding a vintage manual online to no avail, probably just a bad circuit board, oh well, it was cheap enough.
