Default how to check if straps are genuine leather

As the topic says, is there a way to check it? Once, a seller said leather is not flammable. Is it true? Is there a specific way to determine it?

    Default That's an over-simplification!

Really? By now you should REALLY know how to Google search IS LEATHER FLAMMABLE?

Google: Leather barely burns. If you hold a lighter to a piece of leather, it will shrink and curl, but it hardly catches fire or continues to burn.
Instead of "flammable", I'd prefer FLAME RESISTANT.

Who knows? Perhaps Sabrina just wants to know how to differentiate between real and imitation leather (like pleather, leatherette, or naugahidea!

Yes. It doesn't want to burn but if it has to it will.

That's right. I've mistakenly purchased synthetic leather several times
