Not much i can tell you other than the Mignon Watch Comp., was a brand owned by A. Huguenin & Fils, SA located in Le Locle & Bien, Switzerland thru the early 1900's. I believe Mignon watches were brought into the USA by the importer Hipp, Didisheim & Bros of New York during the late 1800's and early 1900's. With this pocket watch, my guess is that someone installed a basic 7 jewel Mignon movement in the Illinois case.
I would suggest posting this one over at the NAWCC site where they have a number of knowledgeable pocket watch specialists.
Thank you for the reply. That makes sense and thanks for the info.
Do you have an opinion as to the quality fo the Mignon watches?
Run of the mill, basic movements. The value in that watch would be in its gold content or if it appeals to someone.
